Every year, thousands of people at Unity centers all over the world celebrate World Day of Prayer. The theme for this year is “Peace in the Midst.” This year’s affirmation is “I am peace in the midst of all that matters!”
World Day of Prayer gives us an opportunity to come together in celebration of our oneness with God, each other, and our world. Through prayer we foster peace and wholeness in our community and in our individual lives.
You are welcome to celebrate World Day of Prayer at Unity Church of Peace in any of the following ways:
- 12 hour prayer vigil on Wednesday, Sept. 14 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. You may sign up in the foyer to take part in the vigil; you are also welcome to stop in and pray anytime.
- Candlelight Prayer Service at 6:30 pm on Thursday, Sept. 14. All are welcome.
- Prayer lists in the bulletins. Please fill one out and put it in the “World Day of Prayer” box on the table in the foyer. We will pray over the lists during the World Day of Prayer vigil and then send them to Silent Unity.
- Silent Unity Unity’s World Day of Prayer website, www.worlddayofprayer.org, offers further resources, including an opportunity to light a virtual candle to represent your light shining in prayer at www.unity.org/wdop/candle.
