Food Bank of Northern Indiana

If you’d like to make a difference in our community, consider volunteering with some other Unity folks at the Food Bank of Northern Indiana on the second Monday of each month.  We meet at the church at 8:45 a.m. and drive together to the Food Bank, where we work from 9:00 a.m. to noon. 

Our activity at the Food Bank varies according to what they need done.  We’ve sorted food, filled bags, repackaged cereal, and assisted in their onsite community food pantry.  Generally, the work is moderately strenuous (standing or moving while sorting or bagging/boxing food.) However, if you have any physical limitations, they can generally find something you can do while sitting down. They’re very appreciative of all volunteers.

Volunteering together at the Food Bank is a great way to get to know your fellow Unity congregants better, and the added bonus is that you’re helping the wider community at the same time.  Please sign up in the foyer if you plan to participate or fill out the “Contact Us” form and let us know you’re coming.  Thanks for your interest in supporting Sacred Service!
